This single is coming out together with the new
Galaktlan album
Constance.
The main track
Laanetaguse is the outcome of
Galaktlan’s
studio session with another respectable
Kohvi artist
Pastacas.
The legend says that by the time
Galaktlan and
Pastacas
have finished recording this piece, their computer has crashed and
all the work simply disappeared. A year later they decided to re-record
the piece, and it’s a good thing they did so! If you are familiar
with the material of both artists you can probably predict the result
of this promising collaboration – folky guitar and voice manipulation
of
Pastacas organically intertwine with deep pulsating rhythms
and delayed electronic melodies of
Galaktlan. Very good!
The second track is a remix by label mate
Barbariz,
who carelessly dressed the original up in a punk suite – it’s
banging and screaming. Next up is
Pastacas’ solo version,
playing his acoustic guitar and processing/re-arranging the vocals.
The closing piece
Bastas partly reflects some older releases
of
Galaktlan – huge mass of floating pads and delayed
chords supported by straight bass drum, proving to be an excellent
addition to the single and an opportunity to move your head, body
and soul. And exclusive to the single as well!
Laanetaguse
is a perfect example of what can happen if two talented individuals
meet in a studio and work together. If you like what you hear, head
straight to
the brilliant album.
