This album was originally released in 2001 and
sold out almost immediately. Luckily,
Citadel have decided
to re-release it, and a right decision that was -
Real Time
is an excellent example of ambient music, that will earn the approval
of any genre’s fan. The original version of the record has been
updated for the 2005 re-issue - the album has been newly mastered
and two fresh tracks have been added as a bonus.
Behind the project is Arkady Marto, one half of
Moscow
Grooves Institute and a member of the
2avocados
bunch. In fact, those already familiar with the smoky ambient sound
of “avocados” will recognize Marto’s work here,
mostly by the distinctive sounds and dreamy moods. Some compositions
may also remind of the work of
Tangerine Dream, FSOL, or
ambient series from
Kompakt. The cover design reflects the
music perfectly – like a cloud, it is very light and weightless,
only Marto’s cloud is full of vital experiences such as love,
friendship, happiness, sadness, fear. In other words, it’s pretty
much alive, like an organism constantly changing and evolving.
Real
Time offers all the elements of successful ambient work - classic
vintage pads, analogue bleeps, field recordings, and above all –
incredible atmospheres and emotions, capable of enhancing your imagination
and listening experience. An absolute must for fans of ambient music.
